Ethan Hoard finishes strong in his first season in Europe, plus updates from Sweden, Iceland and the U.S.
Ethan Hoard (Racine Case/UW-Green Bay) couldn’t help keep FK Jedinstvo Ub in the Serbian SuperLiga, but the 24-year-old striker certainly did what he could to help the club’s battle against relegation.
Hoard closed out the season by scoring his side’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to host FK Radnicki Nis on Saturday.
He played every minute in the 17 matches since joining Jedinstvo Ub in late January, finishing with six goals and two assists. The team scored 20 goals in that span, meaning that Hoard scored or set up 40 percent of their goals.
Hoard was the leading scorer in the eight-team relegation round with five goals as Jedinstvo Ub won three of their seven games — they had only four wins in their first 30 league matches, after which the league split into a championship round and the relegation round. Jedinstvo Ub, which was playing in the top flight for the first time, will play in the second-tier First League in the 2025-2026 season.
Sweden
Ettan Norra
Lukas Sunesson (Marquette) was on the scoresheet again as FC Stockholm beat visiting Enköpings SK FK 3-1 in a third-tier match Saturday. Sunesson, 26, is tied for third in the league with six goals in 9 appearances.
Iceland
Besta deild kvenna
Elaina LaMacchia (Cedarburg/UW-Milwaukee) posted her second clean sheet of the season Friday as host Fram blanked Tindastóll 1-0 in a top-flight match.

Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
Hesron Barry (UW-Green Bay) made his first-team debut for the New England Revolution last Tuesday, playing the final 8 minutes of their 3-1 loss to the visiting Chicago Fire in a Round of 16 match. The 25-year-old defender has made 20 appearances for Revolution II in MLS NEXT Pro over the past two years.
