Elyse Bennett's first goal for Deportivo de La Coruña was a big one for the Spanish club, plus updates from the U.S. and Sweden
Elyse Bennett (De Pere) scored her first goal for Deportivo de La Coruña on Sunday, finding the equalizer in second-half stoppage time as the home side pulled out an important 1-1 draw with Sevilla in a Liga F match in Spain.
Bennett's goal and the point from the tie in the season's penultimate round of games was enough to ensure that 14th-place Deportivo will retain its spot in the top Spanish league for the 2025-2026 season. Deportivo (6W-14L-9D) closes out the season at home against second-place Real Madrid on Sunday.
