FC Milwaukee Torrent 2 finished off its dominating season in the USL Youth Midwest Girls U17/U19 B Division, winning three matches over the weekend in Waukegan, Ill. The team, with players from several clubs and high schools in southeast Wisconsin, went 8-0-0 with six clean sheets and outscored foes 40-2 this summer and earned a berth in the USL Youth Finals from Dec. 13-17 in Tampa, Fla.

UW-Green Bay midfielder Tommy Coughlin started and college teammate Myles Sophanavong came off the bench in the second half as host Peoria City thumped FC Tucson 5-1 in a USL League Two national semifinal Sunday afternoon. Peoria City (11-1-4) will play host the Seacoast United Phantoms (16-1-0) in Saturday’s championship game. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and the match will be streamed live on SportsEngine Play. Coughlin was involved in the fourth goal for the Carp — his shot was blocked by a defender, then deflected off another Tucson defender and past the goalkeeper for an own goal in the 72nd minute. Chris Album, Coughlin’s and Sophanavong’s teammate with the Phoenix, has scored four goals in 11 games for Seacoast United this year, but wasn’t in the squad for their 1-0 victory over Asheville City in the other semifinal Sunday in Newport News, Va.
