Wisconsin high school girls soccer updates
The Week 6 WSCA state polls feature two new teams at No. 1, while Cedar Grove-Belgium closes in on a state record.
As we head into another big week of high school girls soccer in Wisconsin — there are more than 250 games on the Wisconsin Sports Network schedule in the next five days, including 93 tonight — here’s a quick update.
State rankings
Here are the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association state polls for Week 6, including new No. 1 teams in Division 2 (Union Grove) and Division 4 (Appleton Xavier).
There are also two data-driven, mathematical state soccer rankings. Here are links to those rankings, along with their top five teams overall.

StatsPlus: 1, Muskego; 2, Milwaukee DSHA; 3, Oregon; 4, Cedar Grove-Belgium; 5, Kimberly. (These can be sorted by divisions and sectionals)
Rockets two wins from state record
On April 23, 2024, Cedar Grove-Belgium ended Kiel’s state-record, 34-game winning streak with a 1-1 tie in a non-conference game. The Rockets have won all 32 matches they’ve played since then, putting them second on the all-time list behind only Kiel.
Cedar Grove-Belgium (15-0-0), now in Division 3 after winning last season’s Division 4 state title, has outscored opponents 81-10 this year. The Rockets play at Neenah St. Mary (1-7-3) tonight and then face Division 2 Glendale Nicolet (8-4-0) on Friday night at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, where they could equal Kiel’s state record.
Coach Zac Garza’s side also is on the fifth-longest unbeaten streak in state history (40 games), going 39-0-1 since its most recent loss: A 6-5 double-overtime defeat to Kiel in the memorable Division 4 state final on June 17, 2023.
Here are two more impressive streaks, both in conference play:
It’s now been more than 11 years since Oregon lost a Badger Conference game. The Panthers are unbeaten in their past 69 league matches (64-0-5) dating to a 1-0 loss to Fort Atkinson on May 6, 2014.
Sugar River hasn’t lost a Capitol Conference match since falling to Lodi 1-0 back on April 7, 2016 — the Raiders are unbeaten in 59 league games since (58-0-1).
