Wisconsin high school girls soccer updates
Cedar Grove-Belgium's Cora Erickson breaks the state goal-scoring record — and the Rockets look to set another state standard tonight
Back in 2022, a freshman scored in her high school soccer debut. She added a hat trick in her second game, then a brace in in her third game.
The goals have just kept coming, game after game, year after year.
And now Cedar Grove-Belgium senior striker Cora Erickson is the leading goal scorer in Wisconsin girls soccer history.
The Eastern Illinois recruit scored her 225th career goal in a 4-1 victory over Kohler on May 9, breaking the record held by former Ozaukee standout Ashley Bares for the past 18 years. Erickson now has 227 goals and also 66 career assists — currently tied for 12th in state history — meaning she’s played a role in 293 goals during her career.
The numbers are amazing:
Erickson is averaging 2.55 goals per game, and has been held without a goal just nine times in 89 career appearances. Her 66-goal seasons in 2023 and ‘24 are tied for the third-best seasons in state history, and her 55-goal freshman season is tied for eighth.
She has 54 hat tricks in those 89 games (60% of her matches), including 18 four-goal games and four five-goal outbursts.

Another record within reach
Meanwhile, tonight Erickson and the Rockets will attempt to do something no other state girls soccer team has done: Win 35 consecutive games.
They play host to Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah looking to break a tie with Kiel for the longest winning streak in state history.
Cedar Grove-Belgium, the team that ended Kiel’s record run in April 2024, also is on the fifth-longest unbeaten streak in Wisconsin history at 42 games (41-0-1).
State rankings
